I wish I had been more on top of things so that I could have made some “winter is coming” and Game of Thrones puns. However, I’m too late. Winter isn’t coming; winter is here. It’s presence is well known, and I believe it will be here to stay for quite awhile.
This weekend we visited one of my favorite public institutions: the zoo! I have loved going to the zoo since childhood, and try to visit as many as possible. I have visited some spectacular zoos, where there are lush gardens and well cared for animals; I have left some zoos feeling utterly depressed because of the conditions I saw.
While I often write about the places we go, I thought some of you might like to see more of where we stay. We live south of the Han River, in a small neighborhood in Seongnam. Though we originally hoped to live in a more urban area, we are very happy with our little neighborhood. It doesn’t have many restaurants or stores, but it does have access to an amazing web of woodland trails. I have gone on several exploration walks in the vicinity, and I have collected these photos to give you an idea of what we see each day. Let’s take a tour of our neighborhood!
